Akoni Eyewear: Swiss Precision and Japanese Craftsmanship
Akoni is a luxury eyewear brand from the AKN Group, founded in Switzerland in 2019 by seasoned industry professionals with the ambition of setting a new standard for luxury eyewear. The name Akoni is derived from Latin, meaning 'invaluable, admirable' – a philosophy of understated luxury over fleeting fashion.

Each frame is designed in Switzerland and entirely handcrafted by some of Japan's finest artisans. Akoni consciously draws upon ancient Japanese crafts: from Japanese wood joinery techniques and the delicate Kiriko glass art to knife-making and Shodo, the traditional art of calligraphy – each time translated into surprising details within the frame. The collections derive their names from celestial bodies, space programmes, aviation, science, and technology: the Etere line is named after constellations and crafted from eco-friendly cellulose acetate; Horizon combines lightweight titanium with acetate and honours the world's most powerful telescopes; and Delta, with its refined wire frames, refers to legendary space programmes. Each season, Akoni builds upon these recognisable silhouettes with new technical and aesthetic refinements, such as the recent 'Echoes of Time' collection, which focuses on architectural forms and the dialogue between tradition and contemporary design.

Akoni appeals to those who prioritise substance over ostentation: a timeless frame without overt logos, worn by individuals including Daniel Craig and Uma Thurman. For those seeking Swiss precision, ancient Japanese craftsmanship, and a touch of cosmic wonder in a single pair of spectacles, Akoni offers a discerning, refined choice.
People are individuals, original and headstrong.
